Monkey Business, not!

Less than a month ago, my friends, Ellaine Axalan and Marvin Conti, together with their  friend from college Kevin Javellana opened a shirt and miscellaneous printing business LOGORAMA PH .

All hailing from Adamson Univeristy, these three friends decided to put up a business after much thought. These three friends are all registered nurses – but their profession will not be wasted since they have day jobs that have connection with the nursing field.  This business seen the sunlight out of the three friend’s shared hobby.

Their main products are shirts

One of their designs is this one. See, they haven’t forgotten their professions.

Shirts for couples, perfect for those who are mushy, those who like to put their heart on their sleeves – or on the whole shirt rather :-)

And they also customize shirts, just tell them the design you want, the color, anything you like to be put on your shirt – just remember not to violate the intellectual property rights. Make sure that whatever you wanted to put on your shirt was yours, or if you are quoting somebody, please credit them properly.

This is on a personal level, I hate people who posts stats on their FB’s as if those words were their own! Come on, ever heard of respect?…

Anyway, they also offer card printing, and personalized tumblers.

Interested? Go visit their FB page here and order now!

Despedida de Soltera

July 22.

Tita Vangie, Jen’s mom, called me to help her organize a bridal shower for Jen. Since I already resigned from work and it doesn’t seem like a tough work naman (“seem”), I agreed. I sent a message to some of Jen’s friends regarding this and we agreed to meet up at McDo T. Sora (the favorite meeting place) to plan.

On our first meeting, Mymy was so generous enough to treat me, Mau, and Jayvie a cheeseburger meal — and with some cajoling, Madi gave up and she split the bill with Mymy, hahaha! On our list, because Tita Vanj said she’ll be cooking spaghetti and ordering a monster sized pizza, we decided to have – buffalo wings, nachos, a cake, fruit salad, sparkling juice, punch,  and hotdogs&marshamallows. The theme was a masquerade ball. The initial plan was to have the party at Jen’s house, but Madi said she could try to ask St. Charbel’s clubhouse on how much it would cost us to have our party there. Relayed these to Jahnel, Jen’s sister.

The date was moved from August 2 to September 4 because Jen’s wanted to have her shower with George here in the Philippines. Of course she didn’t know we’re planning one, but Tita asked her a hypothetical question, like, if she’s going to have a bridal shower, would she want George be present…that’s their version of bridal shower :-)

Regarding the clubhouse, it was soooo pricey, so Tita called LIG condominium and asked how much would the rent in one of their function area by the pool. and since it was affordable for most of us (most, because nothing is affordable for me at that time), we decided to hold the party there.

Before our second meeting, me and Mau went to GBPO to take videos of our officemates. Jayvie was assigned to shoot at NEU,  Madi was assigned at their office, and Mymy at their PNK dako.

On our second meeting, the contribution was raised to a certain amount because we are to pay an extra amount at LIG. Then the menu was changed – Spaghetti, Pizza, Bruschetta, Baked potatoes, Nachos,  a number of dips, brownies, clubhouse sandwich, and kakanin. The theme was changed to, kasi by the pool, sagwa naman kung nakagown kami at naka-maskara…so nabago siya to Luau.

Come September 20.

Few were not able to attend kasi yung iba may pasook, may duty, wala ng leave (saving their last leave for Jen’s wedding), may sakit o kaya hindi namin macontact.

Mau came here sa bahay tapos dinaanan kami ni Tita Vangie. Mga 3 o’clock yun, kasi kailangan namin mauna dun kasi mag seset-up pa kami ng table, itetest pa yung video, and may decors pang ilalagay si Jahnel.

The Venue

Madi and Mymy came next, galing sila sa work so nagpalit pa sila ng damit pagpunta dun. Then they helped us setting the table, foods and chairs. Then sila Jayvs, Mel, and AJ sunod. We had a problem sa video so Madi called her bf (she brought her bf’s DVD player) for help. Nakakatawa lang, kasi kausap ni Madi si Erman, then si George na…ewan ko bakit naging kausap niya din si Jen. and while talking to her phone, bigla naming nakita car nila Jen. So we all ducked. Madz even crawled under the table – parang earthquake lang. Then after a few minutes, we rose then shout “surprised!!!”

watch the video here

Jen was surprised – she had no inkling that there is a bridal shower for her. If you watch the video, you’ll hear her say, “kakapafacial ko lang, nakakainis”

Then she changed clothes, which her sister brought.

Her dad  did the opening prayer. Tapos, kaininan na…

Tita’s spaghetti (which she revealed the next day that it wa Jahnel who cooked the pasta)

Bruschetta

Pizza

This was ordered from Jugno’s Monster Pizza. which we first tasted at the office. They deliver, and has branch in Anonas/Aurora…sorry, nalilito kasi ako sa 2 places na yun.

Press Release

I can’t believe I’m doing this.

1. I brought my camera with me but I did not use it. Not that I don’t want to…but the first few pics I’ve taken with it that day were all blurred. Kaya di ko na siya ginamit

2. I am not seated with Jayvie and Mymy – who have cameras and took pictures almost every minute but I am seated with Ma’am Ann – who took photos with her cellphone, and I believe she took a few shots of me; and with Mike – who has very nice cams but didn’t actually took photos in our table.

3. I believe I took home the Paparazzi (tama ba spelling ko?) Award given by GBPO last December. I’m not the type to say ” Uy, picture-an mo naman ako” – unless camera ko yun gamit.

4. Hindi rin ako nakikipagsiksikan pag madami ng tao para sa shot na yun…nakakainis kaya pag todo smile ka tapos hindi ka na pala kasya sa frame.

5. And isn’t it better if you’re pictures are not everywhere…like in Hollywood… magazines are on their toes to have those exclusive photos…

Sooooooo, ok na tayo?.. Maliwanag na ba?…
